Game Mechanics

  • Gameplay
    • Each character takes turns performing their movement and actions. When a character's turn starts, the timer at the top of the screen shows how much time in total they have to spend on their actions.
    • No need to rush! The timer only counts down when your character performs an action.
    • As long as there is more than 0 time remaining, your character can still act. Try to manage your time wisely to get multiple attacks in each turn!
    • Spending more time than you have remaining leaves you in a VULNERABLE state and your defence will be reduced by half for the next incoming attack. Be mindful of when you're overspending on an extra attack!
  • Movement/Poses
    • JUMP
      • Ending your turn while in the JUMP pose will evade any incoming non-jumping attacks.
      • If you get hit by a jumping attack while in the JUMP pose, you take double damage and get reset to a neutral pose.
    • BLOCK
      • Ending your turn while in the BLOCK pose will reduce all incoming attack damage by half until your next turn.
      • If you get hit with a dashing attack while in the BLOCK pose, you still take half damage, but get reset to a neutral pose.
    •  CROUCH
      • Ending your turn while in the CROUCH pose will evade any incoming non-crouching attacks.
      • If you get hit by a crouching attack while in the CROUCH pose, you take double damage and get reset to a neutral pose.
    • DASH
      • Ending your turn while in the DASH pose will double the power of your next attack if you don't get hit before your next turn.
      • If you get hit by any attack while in the DASH pose, you take double damage and get reset to a neutral pose.
      • Hitting an enemy with a dashing attack who is in the BLOCK pose will reset them to a neutral pose.
    • NEUTRAL
      • You start in a NEUTRAL pose by default with no bonuses or penalties.
      • To reset your character to a NEUTRAL pose, input the same pose twice.
  • Actions
    • WAIT
      • Ends your turn, leaving you in the pose that you're currently in.
    • LIGHT
      • Performs a light attack from the current pose.
      • Uses up 2 seconds of the timer.
      • Performing back-to-back LIGHT attacks will reset your character to their previous pose before attacking again.
    • HEAVY
      • Performs a heavy attack from the current pose.
      • Uses up 4 seconds of the timer.
      • Performing back-to-back HEAVY attacks will reset your character to their previous pose before attacking again.
    • SPECIAL
      • Set your character to a neutral pose, then input the fireball command: CROUCH, DASH, followed by either LIGHT or HEAVY to do a SPECIAL move.
      • SPECIAL moves use 10 seconds of the timer
      • Ending your SPECIAL input with a HEAVY attack deals high damage to a single target.
      • Ending your SPECIAL input with a LIGHT attack deals regular damage to all remaining targets.
  • Timer
    • If the timer reaches 0, you are reset to a neutral pose and your turn ends.
    • If the timer goes below 0, you will end your turn and be in a VULNERABLE state, reducing your defence by half for the next incoming attack.

Error: CreateUnityInstance is not defined :(

Oh no! Would you mind sharing some info with me on your browser, OS, and device type? This is the first instance I've heard about with this error so far.

Vivaldi browser on Linux Manjaro, desktop.

Great, thank you! I'll look into this.

- Interesting concept; like the idea of having action points

- Fireball inputs are fun

- Screen aspect ratio is a bit off for me, couldn't see all the action buttons on the screen

- Unable to see which target is selected

Fixed! Thanks again for finding the issue and testing my fix afterward.
